Karachi Kings Respond to Preity Zinta’s Team Over Controversial Post

Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings has fired back at Indian actress Preity Zinta’s IPL team, Punjab Kings, after a controversial social media post that drew widespread criticism.
The controversy began when Punjab Kings shared an Asia Cup schedule graphic but deliberately removed Pakistan’s logo, replacing it with a blank white box, while keeping the Indian cricket board’s logo visible. The move was slammed by cricket fans worldwide — including many from India — who called it childish and unsportsmanlike. Facing backlash, Punjab Kings eventually turned off comments on the post.

In response, Karachi Kings released a creative post showing Pakistan’s captain Salman Ali Agha playing chess, while the Indian captain’s picture was hidden in shadows. A clock in the image pointed exactly at 6:00, which fans believe was a symbolic reference to the time Pakistan shot down six Indian fighter jets during “Operation Swift Retort”.

This online exchange comes just before the high-voltage Pakistan vs. India clash in the Asia Cup 2025. The two sides are set to meet in their group-stage match on September 14 in Dubai. If both progress to the Super Four, they will face each other again on September 21, and a potential third showdown could take place in the final on September 28.
